Freedom From Addiction 14 Feb 2008
By Patience Lewis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is amazing!!!! The way David Simmon refamed the 12 step program is remarkable and much more user friendly for the general public...it's very nice how he and Deepak explain why people become addicted and that it is not something you need to see as an addiction for the rest of your life. The only thing missing is a program at the Chopra Center to go with it.

Excellent alternate option 4 Dec 2011
By Amy Bocks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Freedom from Addiction is an excellent book and makes a good alternative, or supplement, to other addiction programs. The concepts aren't new and anyone who's read Chopra before will be familiar with many of the thoughts and philosophies. As a psych grad student I liked it because it offered a difference from the (my own personal opinion) more negatively focused AA. Freedom from Addiction may make a good addition to SMART Recovery or another program for those who aren't in a position, whatever the reason, to explore in-patient treatment or are looking to make healthier and smarter behavioral changes ontheir own.

Any book by Deepak Chopra is worth reading. Makes you think, reflect, and renew. All addicts should read this book. Freedom and real healing come from within.
