I bought this little hard drive as a secondary unit. I already have a Maxtor drive which is an external drive which uses an external power supply. So when looking for a new drive i wanted something which was more portable and didn't use an external power supply.
I went with the Freecom drive because it's small enough and high enough capacity for the price, along with being USB Powered.
I couldn't believe actually how small and light it was when i recieved it, quite a lot smaller than i thought it would be! The drive performs well, and is on-par with the noise level of my laptop, virtually non-existant.
I have experienced a few times when the drive won't remove from Windows, but other than that it's the perfect drive.
So, it's light, high capacity, bus powered, quiet and it looks pretty cool too. What more do you want?

I've bought a number of Freecom products now and I'm very happy with them all. I have a 120gb Freecom hard drive that has been a joy, now that its full I came across this 320gb which is undoubtedly the best priced 320gb mobile on the market at the moment. Out of the box this drive was simple to plug in and start using, almost silent in use I've backed up all my music and photos with about 170gb left to play with.

As usual, delivered on time and straight from the box effortless set up!!

When it arrived I opened it to find its shell to be of a sleek design that lays flat rather than vertical. I had read about vertical external hard drives and there have been horror stories about loosing all the data if it was knocked

Reliable and easy to use exra storage
This really is a "does what it says on the tin" product. Just plug it in to a USB port and away you go. No reliability problems so far.

I have already got a 160gb version and have been very pleased with it's performance. This is just as good but better value.

No problems
I have an iMac and I am using my external hard disk with Time Machine. I can only say that It works perfectly. It's a good product.

It it the largest capacity without having to have an external power supply that I could find. It is well worth buying for additional storage. Read more

Good
Early days as yet, but up to now this item has been easy to install, silent running, light as a feather. The Freecom brand came recomended from a friend.

Good value for 320GB
It's cheapest 320GB portable driver, but the size is bigger than a standard 2.5" portable driver (compare with my nice and quiet 250GB WD one)
