Works well - recommended 12 Mar 2010

Works straight out of the box. I have Windows XP which recognised the docking station on plug-in and immediately loaded the necessary driver.
The unit is supplied with a mains adapter and USB lead - enough to get you going if you want to use it with SATA drives only. If you want to use it with PATA hard drives you will need to also order a 40-way IDE ribbon cable and power cable. As the unit is sold as a box that will do both PATA and SATA I would have expected the necessary cables to have been included, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. The box was supplied by Kikatek who delivered it promptly. It's a neat compact box that I would recommend.

Very good piece of equipment. Note that when using an IDE drive you need to buy or have a separate power cable and IDE ribbon cable.

Freecom Hard Drive Doc Pro 29 Aug 2010

Sadly the product that arrived did not do what it said on the tin, i.e. it needed additional cable set before it would work with 3.5 drives. To obtain the cable set one had to contact Freecom and then wait a week or so for it to be mailed from Germany. Once this arrived, it worked well. Freecom 31994 Hard Drive Dock 2.5/3.5 USB&SATA
