Product Description

Three London motorcycle couriers Fred (Gary Stretch), Tyg (Geoff Bell) and Grouch (Phil Daniels) set off from the capital in search of an elusive hippy and his cannabis farm in the Welsh mountains. Originally intended as a nice weekend in the country, Fred has now found himself making a promise to his old friend the Chairman that whatever situations arise he will not return empty handed. Grouch has also made a promise that come Monday morning he ll be moving himself and his belongings into his new found love Lucinda s flat, and finally making an attempt at the world of serious relationships. As for Tyg, no such pact. This is a man who s never been further than the outskirts of London, and as far as he s concerned an industrial unit near Heathrow Airport is pretty much the back of beyond. No, Tyg s out to explore; to broaden his horizons; to lose any ignorance and soak up the hospitality of another nation. But, what are those wild beast noises coming from the woods and why are there two gangs of bikers in the area about to settle an old score? Throw in a seven foot, masked, lovesick Russian wrestler and things could really get out of hand. That said, it may also have something to do with the wild mushrooms they had for breakfast. It s a three and a half hour journey from London to the Welsh mountains, but for Fred, Tyg and Grouch it s just about to turn into the trip of a lifetime.

Synopsis

Three London motorcycle couriers embark on a journey to find a cannabis farm in the Welsh mountains. However, they ingested some wild mushrooms for breakfast...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Future Classic - 100%, 3 Jun 2008
This is a small budget britflick and I wasn't sure how I would enjoy it when my husband took me to see it. I needn't have worried, it was absoloutly hysterical, it was well written with a typical British sense of humour. The guy who reviewed it earlier on must have been watching it in his sleep as everyone who was in the cinema with us was roaring with laughter. I have only seen a few other films that has had the audience laughing out loud so much. I am now buying the DVD as I have been dying to see it again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!, 14 Mar 2009
I looked forward to watching this film ever since I read about its pending release in a well known weekly bike publication a while ago. Having ridden bikes for the last 24 years and a brief career as a motorcycle courier, I really thought this British made comedy would be a truly entertaining experience which I could relate to, especially because it included a couple of my favourite actors; Phil Daniels who was excellent in the all time classic 'Quadrophenia' and Gary Stretch who after a successful career as a professional boxer, made a seamless transition into acting in the truly brilliant 'Dead Man's Shoes' directed by Shane Meadows.

However I have to say that I was truly disappointed with this film which appears to have been written and directed by people with no understanding of real bikers and their lifestyles which varies greatly like most things in life. Instead it portrays the old (and very annoying) cliché that motorcyclists are a bunch of drug taking drop-outs who hang around in large gangs and like nothing better than a big fight with another rival gang. I can't deny that there are a very small minority of bikers who fit this bill, but most of us choose not to live our life like that!

It's one of those films that you keep watching and hoping that it will get better but never actually does. It doesn't really have much of a storyline or much in the way of comedy and some of the drug tripping moments which I presume are supposed to be hilarious are in fact really weird rather than amusing, unless of course you're into hallucinogenic drugs and on a trip yourself then perhaps they would be really funny man? The most entertaining part of the film is in my view, the motorcycles themselves which sadly don't appear as much as you'd like or expect from a so-called 'Biker Movie'. It has been described by a broadsheet newspaper film critic as 'The British Wild Hogs' but in my opinion it's not even in the same league as its Hollywood alternative, which although not an outstanding film itself, is much more enjoyable nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant!!!, 12 Sep 2008
The big cinema companies don't go for this type of movie, preferring the blockbuster productions with mega effects & a star packed cast. More fool them because this has the makings of a film that will grow & grow in popularity.

It's another (in a long line of) Britflick which successfully blends good acting (Phil Daniels looks as if he were born to the role!), great script which moves along nicely, a sound plot, fab soundtrack & scenery which we all too often forget about (must get to Hay On Wye more often!).

Make no mistake, this is a "must see" & it tips a nod to other movies such as Zulu, Easy Rider & even Braveheart - I suppose you'll have to watch it to see what I mean.

I don't want to spoil the film for future viewers, but the fact that the 3 central characters play bikers stoned out of their minds for most of the film certainly strikes a chord with me!

Enjoy & celebrate the fact that we still make excellent, quirky films like this.
