Product Description

Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's Free-Range Knitter: The Yarn Harlot Writes Again reminds us of the joy we felt upon first encountering her hilarious and poignant collection of essays surrounding her favorite topics: knitting, knitters, and what happens when you get those two things anywhere near ordinary people.

For the 60 million knitters in America, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (a.k.a. the Yarn Harlot) shares stories of knitting horrors and triumphs, knitting successes and defeats, but, mostly, stories about the human condition that ring true for everyone--especially if you happen to have a rather large amount of yarn in your house.

Funny, unique, and gleeful in her obsession, Pearl-McPhee speaks to knitters of all skill levels in this delightful celebration of craft and creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars knitting fun 23 April 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
this book is very good, easy read, very good for holidays when you have had enough of knitting. The lost knitting needle made me laugh so so typical I can imagine doing that my self, but perhaps not quite to that degree.

I love this author's books and this was no exception. A great observer of knitters and other ( can't really say lesser) humanity.
Would also amuse non knitters who might just be converted.

Fabulous as always! A hilarious mix of knitting stories and stories about life in general that is sure to embarrass you in public. My only regret is that I read it too fast!

Especially the story called "A sense of snow". I laughed my head off. Great for these months of cold and staying in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read if you're a knitter 13 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You might not enjoy this as much as I did if you've never had your significant other try to stage an intervention over the fact your yarn is beginning to take over your home. But if you're a knitter, you'll probably find something you enjoy in this book.
