Product Description

Review

Angela brings a fresh, modern take on free-motion quilting that will make the reader want to run to the sewing studio to try her addictive stitching ideas. The relatively large negative spaces that are frequently seen in modern quilts, often featuring fabric in solid colors, seem to cry out for interesting quilting designs to complement and complete the overall look. Angela's 28 step-by-step stitching designs, along with her tips for successful quilting, will help give machine quilters confidence in choosing the right designs, thread and batting for each modern quilt that comes under their needle. --Machine Quilting Unlimited; Nov/Dec 2012

5.0 out of 5 stars Practice makes perfect 19 July 2012
By Elaine B Reader TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
What a fabulous book, written by someone who absolutely loves quilting, and is certain everyone else can be taught to love it too. Her writing is infectious, it makes me want to get out my doodle paper and pen and practice some of those swirls, or hooks or leaves, and see just how they join with their neighbours, and all because she says it's a good idea, and probably because I can handle a pencil much better than a machine needle with the feed dogs down!

The author is a very talented young woman, with masses of experience, and a lovely writing style, I actually feel I can maybe, just maybe, really get the hang of free motion quilting (I'm a sad relic of a thimble and thread hand quilter at present) this book has just about convinced me that I can work my way across a quilt top (diagrams will show me how to),so maybe I will.

There's a wonderful gallery of work to inspire me as well. I've just remembered all those wonderful video's on youtube that I've gazed at in envy, BUT this book is open giving me encouragement whilst I work at my own speed, so yes, this gets the thumbs up for giving me enthusiasm and conviction that at last I CAN DO IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for free motion quilting 25 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a lovely book, beautifully written with excellent clear instructions on free motion quilting. There are loads of ideas to give a more modern look to your quilts but equally they can be used on the traditional designs. A great reference book which I know I will use over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do-able 18 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Don't let the boring front cover (sorry author) of this book put you off, its filled with do-able quilting, can't wait to give it a go. It's just what you need if you don't have access to a Gammell. It's fantastic for 'modern' quilts, which I'm just getting into - getting fed up of the twee quilts now. And this book is a great addition to my collection.
