Product Description

Your guide to the best free classic e-books for the Kindle. Because some conversions are sloppily done, a free download can be a waste of time. These are books that are out of copyright, but never out of style! Most are from before 1923. I link to the US & UK versions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Free and Semi'Free Literary Books for the Kindle 23 Nov 2011
I find this site very useful for reminding me of classics I'd like to have on my Kindle and introducing me to new, often American authors. The other day I sent a link to my daughter for a book which sounded right up her street and she downloaded it instantly. Thanks for a great service!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great service- saves me the time of selecting best download! 14 Jan 2011
By kaceyk - Published on Amazon.com
Downloading classic novels for free is great, but the format it is downloaded in can be difficult (and annoying) to read. This service saves me time to do what I want to do, which is read great books with the precious little time I have in which to read them. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best free ebook blog 7 Dec 2011
By David Abrams - Published on Amazon.com
There are a lot of blogs out there which highlight free e-books, but this is one of the best. Marilyn picks one book per day, gives a short excerpt (usually the opening paragraph) and then encourages you to add it to your e-library. Her explanations are brief, enthusiastic and thoroughly convincing. Many times, I've found myself downloading a classic from the early 1900s which I would never have discovered if it weren't for this blog.

And for you new Kindle owners out there: THIS is the place to start if you want to build a solid library of classics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful for sifting through editions of classics 21 Feb 2012
By Hilary M. Murphy - Published on Amazon.com
I have started reading this blog regularly (though not on my Kindle) to find great classics that I haven't heard of before. I like the effort that Marilyn goes through to find the best formatted editions, and her efforts to find free classics. It makes selecting your classics that much easier.

Hmm

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sources for Kindle Classics! 28 Nov 2011
By EJ - Published on Amazon.com
Disclaimer: I read this blog in an RSS reader and not on my Kindle. This is because my workplace makes wifi difficult.

This blog lists literary classics available for the Kindle in both the US and UK. In addition to telling us what is available, there is a review and usually an exerpt. I find these to be very well written and very helpful.

Thanks very much to Marilyn for bringing these classics to attention. Some I read years ago and some I have always wanted to read.
