Roy Arnie has a dream of one day running his own circus. He and his friends, Odd, Gaz and Flea are uprooted from their mean city streets to work with Ringmaster Stromowski in a touring Russian circus. The star attraction is Jimmy, an elephant kept happy on a cocktail of drugs and the key to his dream is Jimmy. On the opening night a bungled attempt to give Jimmy his drugs causes widespread panic. Jimmy escapes and so begins a mad cap cross country road-trip to find Jimmy before he goes cold turkey.

So the premise of this is a drug dealer has stolen heroin from the Russians, and is smuggling it in a drugg addicted elephant across Norway. He is "helped" by his three gangster chums, whilst being pursued by the Lapish Mafia (on behalf of the Russians), some annimal liberationists (all of questionable sanity), and some big game hunters.
Sounds rubbish right?
And it should be. But somehow this works. The movie is shot in Toy Story style animantion, but is is VERY adult, and constanlty lampoons other similarly styled movies whilst still being engaging.
The (english) voice over cast is star studded - David Tennant, Simon Pegg etc, and this film never takes itself too seriously. It may not necessarily be chick-friendly, but if you've got the lads over on a Saturday night, you could do far worse than this.

A masterpiece! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this impressive response to the Disney-Pixar norm. The visual style matches very well with the plot, which is both touching and poignant.

Very different and great fun
Definitely not an animation for kids. Plenty of drugs, sex and violence. Impressive voice-over cast list. Recommended.
