4.0 out of 5 stars Free Forever 31 July 2009
I have recently revived my interest in this 70's band and found this DVD a very good representative snapshot shot of just who were the band 'Free' - the early years and live concerts give just evidence of such a crackin' band - sadly the use of audio interspersed with pictures on the second DVD let the production down, the Free Live album I bought years ago could have equally served this purpose.

Nevertheless for someone trying to get to grips with the awesome musicianship of Rodgers, Fraser, Kirke and Kossoff would still find a bargain with this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant forever 4 Dec 2008
To compare Free with Led Zep or Cream is not the point. The point is Free were simply the best band to ever live for several reasons. The band where four equal parts who all played from the heart and soul. Watch Kossof play what i think is the best guitar solo ever on Mr Big. Its simply astounding and takes your breath away. Every chord comes straight from his soul, his playing is even more special because he was only twenty years of age. Paul Rogers voice was a extension of Kofs guitar playing and i feel he had the best blues rock voice ever. Add to that the most underated drummer ever and a kid of seventeen who was years ahead of his time on the base, then you had the mixture of pure innocent genious. Im not sad that they broke up only that Kossof died so young. The miracle was that when these four young lads played they made your hairs stand on end and touched your soul. Im only glad that they give us what they did and left what i feel is the greatest collection of pure blues and rock ever played.

As a collector of 70s hard rock on DvD I like the Free collection..very much Paul Rogers with Badcomapny and Free are some of my favourites.....Would like to have seen a live performance of Wisihng well instead of the tacky video in the singles section...otherwise a perfect. addition to my collection..
