It's shocking these guys aren't played on the radio or more in the "public eye"!
This album is fantastic! A definite contender for album of the year
13 tracks -all great, and which could all be on any radio playlist (Apart from 1 instrumental).
Buy this album! See these guys live!

An excellent album. Sounds better everytime I listen to it. If you like Biffy Clyro, you'll love this. An excellent rock band that are gonna be big.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good 14 Jan 2012
Format:MP3 Download
Ignore the BBC Reviewer - what a load of tripe, this album is great. I loved Make a Beast of Myself and heard Free as a record of the week on Radio 1, so I downloaded the whole album. I have found it a real grower, Edit Me is a really good start to the album, Make A Beast of Myself is still my favourite track but I there are some really strong tracks like The Ghost Of Eddie and I LOVE Crash Land. It's also nice to hear a band that are not worried about the fact that they have an accent and try to tone it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better late than never! 11 Jun 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I actually stumbled across Twin Atlantic really recently, after seeing 'Make A Beast Of Myself' of a music channel. I'm so happy that I finally found them - what a band!

The BBC reviewer is far too harsh - I think this album is brilliant. Sam's voice is so distinctive, even although there are other profound Scottish singers out there (namely, Biffy Clyro and Glasvegas). You can feel the emotion when he sings, as if it's the last thing he'll ever do.

'Make A Beast Of Myself' is a cracking song, but there are plenty others, too. 'Free', 'We Want Better, Man' and 'Time For You To Stand Up' are my personal favourites, with 'Crash Land' also providing a down-tempo moment that makes you feel like the world has stood still.

Basically, I love this album. If you like good music, you should buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fresh music for old and new rockers alike! 27 Feb 2013

I had a bit of paper kicking around my car for months with Twin Atlantic written on it having heard a track on the radio that grabbed my attention. Did nothing about it until a couple of months ago and boy am I glad I bought this. It has also really grown on me. Some albums hit you in the face and then trickle down the play list. Every time I play this I hear something different I hadnt picked up before.
I totally agree they should be on the radio more
Youd be forgiven for thinking the first few bars could have been the start of a Guns and Roses track (similar to Welcome to the Jungle) then the vocals reminded me of Blink 182 giving it a more pop feel, but then became more rasping and powerful and good to hear the dialect which adds to the raw feel and emotion of the music.
Track 5 had the overtones of 500 miles but the proclaimers are twee in comparison to this.
And then you forget trying to make comparisons as these guys are in a league of their own - which was how I also would describe the Killers (which I love).
For me the mark of a really great rock band ( of which this is one) is one that can take hints of all sorts of things and blend them into their own unique style which is just...well.. them and no-one else.
I totally agree with the reviewer who said 'All killers, No Fillers' as every track is different and every one demands your attention. No temptation here to skip a track to one of your favourites. If you love great new rock music with a huge variety of beat, strength, bit of acoustic, guts and passion, drive, musical skill and interesting lyrics then BUY THIS. Superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars All "killer", no "filler" 19 Dec 2012
By alexo
Format:Audio CD
When I first heard of this band, someone described them as a cross between biffy clyro and the foo fighters which put me off a bit. For years now the foo fighters have been releasing albums of "filler" with only a couple of good tracks and I was concerned that twin atlantic may follow in a similar vain. I needn't have worried.
"Free" does have the big hitters, particularly "make a beast of myself" which will have you screaming along with the chorus within a couple of listens, but the album as a whole really is outstanding!
The first three tracks really are an excellent album intro on a similar anthemic note, whilst "crash land" shows a softer side to the band with Sam McTrusty's vocal range shining through. Brilliantly simple!

If you get chance to see this band live, do it. You won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Twin Atlantic - giving rock a whole new face 28 Aug 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Formed in 2007, Scottish lads Twin Atlantic were supported by Kerrang! as babies and grew to land support slots with fellow Scots Biffy Clyro. Aswell as this they've even supported Punk giants Blink-182 (and are doing so again this year) - upon reading this I knew they had to be good, I just didn't realise how good. I picked up Free only a few weeks ago after missing the hype around its release (and thinking they were `just another band'). Smacked full in the face by Sam McTrusty's extremely strong Glaswegian accent I sat back in my chair and continued to listen, eyes fixed on the screen, barely breathing.

`Time For You To Stand Up's triumphant power chords present a confident, passionate band and lead guitar's background melody is so cleverly crafted it leads you yearning for more - hanging onto their every word. As he sings `I need you to believe in me' there's no doubt everyone listening does.

`Yes, I Was Drunk' has the most beautifully sincere opening riff, and raw, vulnerable vocals that make one hell of a song. With every melodic repetition a new layer is added: a bass riff, a strumming of electric guitars, modest drums. Definitely a pick-me-up or a song to cry to all rolled into one: sad without being depressing and melody victorious enough to put a smile on your face.

From the unrefined to the clean produced funfair feel of `Dreamember', sombre lyrics are disguised with a jaunty tune sure to stay with you for the rest of the day. No one can deny Twin Atlantic know how to write hooks & this is one of their best. Alongside title track `Free' which has a pre-chorus to rival the likes of Blink-182 easily, lyircs `Where's your passion, where's your fire tonight?' provoke emotion from the hardest of souls, rallying us up for a fight.
