Mr Douglass was born a slave, escaped twice and became an adviser to Abraham Lincoln. The book gives insight into many of the things happening around the 1850s. I didn't realize that in hard times, some of the former slaves cared for their former owners. Amazing.

Very disappointed.
Expected a book.
What I got was what seemed like a term paper for a high school or college class.
Perhaps I should be more careful wit my selections and read the ad more carefully.
