Product Description

Product Description

Foreman's dramatic kidnap and arrest for Britain's biggest cash robbery made headlines around the world, yet this daring raid was just the peak of the safe-blowing, bank-robbing career that spanned decades. His story is a fascinating, yet chilling account of life as a freelance enforcer for the Kray twins, and as London's most feared gangster. Bloodshed aside, Freddie's oftern humorous stories reveal a caring man who belives that violence is a last resort and who always treated people with respect. Revealed in these pages are the amazing details of the heists, the double crossings, the shoot-outs and the betrayals that accompanied life as a career criminal when the streets were controlled by fear. Exposed are the audacious plans behind the century's most famous crimes, the damning evidence of police corruption and the eye-opening events that gave Freddie the most revered reputation.

All about British crime in the 60's 70's and beyond. An insight into the Kray Twins and much more.
Best to read this book by Freddie Foreman before reading his son Jamie's book.

Highly recommend this book, it is a fascinating account of an era long passed. Fred takes the reader on a journey through his early childhood and includes detail of how life was in the 30's 40's & 50's, tells how he became involved in crime, 'job's' he has done, how he did them and the consequences thereof. The book is also amusing and keeps the reader hooked on the outcome of each story. He also mentions fellow cons, his time in gaol, his family and talks intimately of his emotions throughout. Well worth a read.

This was one of the best books that I have ever written. It was extremely well written and there isnt one part in it that is boring. I have no empathy at all with criminals but this man seems to be a class apart. His level of intellect is apparant and he would have been successful whatever environment that he had worked in. I would recomend this book to anyone and have done to several people including my father who enjoyed it and could identify with the early part of his life despite coming from a different country. I really enjoyed this book and the subject comes across very well and also as an individual prepared to make his own decisions not as a follower.
