I hoped this DVD would be a good introduction to slide playing but I was rather disappointed with it. I'd seen other lesson's by Fred and they were great (he's actually a very good guitarist, perhaps slide isn't his forte). I was looking for some instruction on basic technique (specifically damping) but like most slide DVDs I've seen it wasn't covered in much detail; I'd agree that Bob Brozman's DVD lesson are much better in this regard. I also didn't like the material much, it isn't very focused. Some tunes are blues, others sound more like rather twee rock `n' roll. The explanation isn't that great either, expect to spend a lot of time either rewinding sections or using the tab booklet.
I think the aim with this DVD was to give a general introduction to both electric and acoustic slide playing but it's lack of focus lets it down. There are better DVD lessons available, Bob Brozman's are good but I like Mike Dowling's best (so far).
