5.0 out of 5 stars A new milestone in the art of widdly excess, 4 Oct 2002
By A Customer
Mattias IA Eklundh is a true breath of fresh air in the Vai/Satch dominated genre of instrumental guitar. The music spans a wide scope from frank zappa insanity to gypsy jazz noddling to screaming soaring hard rock excess. Mattias uses unbelievable high harmonics 27th fretted notes and even vibrators to add texture to his not unlike Vai guitar style.
Becareful not to confuse him as a Vai clone, Mattias is totally unique and provides fists full of crazy humour a la zappa.
If your looking for the next true guitar hero look no further, but guitarists be warned, you might not wish to pick up your guitar for a while after hearing him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Refreshing, 14 Jun 2005

(REAL NAME)
From the outset, this album lives up to its name, at no point does this become boring.

Mattias Ia Eklundh is one of the best guitarists to ever pick up a guitar, and this album is really a collection of very long but excellent guitar solos.

If you like Vai, then you will probably like this album, after all, Guitarist magazine has described Eklundh as "Faster than Malmsteen and better than Vai."

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy guitar!!!!, 2 Sep 2003
From the very start, it is apparent that this is a truly Whimsical Album! The opener "Apparatus" makes use of some, ahem, sound affects made by a certain vibrating object that women like to use... Yeah anyway there is something in here for almost any guitar fan, we got rock, heavy Metal, Gypsy Jazz, Ballads and just down right crazy weird stuff. Mattias Has extraordinary facility on the guitar, even more extraordinary when you consider he uses no manufactured effects on his guitar. Every style played on the album is done masterfully and even makes use of baked bean cans for percussion!! He even recorded the whole thing in his bathroom! Dont be put off by this though, the sound quality is great and the song writing superb! Plus its worth your money as you get an impressive 22 tracks to wade through, mostly instrumental. If your a fan of Zappa or Vai I would recommend this to you, or anyone who loves guitar and wants to hear the boundaries pushed a little.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it for the La Bamba cover alone
Like guitar? Buy now. No, NOW. You're not listening are you... This is genius, utter mad, uniqueness on a disc. Satch getting stale? Vai's somersaults beginning to hurt? Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Eklundh
Eklundh brings a much welcomed diverse angle to the guitar world. Players like Vai, Satriani and Petrucci are amazing but often too well groomed and technical. Read more
