Product Description

These sugarcraft cutters are to make tiny shoes for cupcakes and cake decoration. There are instructions inside each pack for high heels, simple flip-fops, baby trainers and elf boots. The Deluxe Tiny Shoe Cutters set was used in the book 'Twenty to make, Mini Sugar Shoes' by Frances McNaughton (Search Press). Lots of designs of shoes can be made using the shaped cutters to make the different parts of the shoes; sandals, stilettos, red glitter shoes, satin shoes, ballet shoes, strappies, boots, baby shoes. The shoes can be made using Sugar Flowerpaste and Sugar Mexican Paste for use on cakes. They can also be made with non-edible modelling pastes e.g. Polymer Clay and air-drying clays for long-lasting keepsakes. Shoes have been a fashionable decoration on cakes for quite a long time but, with the increase in added embellishments on cupcakes, making these tiny shoes has become very popular. Using cutters when making such tiny models helps with the shaping, as it minimises the amount of handling needed. The methods shown in the pack can all be expanded to add tiny adjustments of your own using different embossers, cutters and colours to design your own shoes and matching bags. As they are so small, they are relatively quick to make, and do not need to be made with very much detail. Three different sizes of tiny shoe soles (approx 4cm, 3cm and 2cm) means that lots of different sizes and designs can be made - including dolls house size. Circles are used to make the shape for the heels, as well as other parts of the shoes. Squares, Ovals and multi-use cutter are also used for the different designs. The multi-use cutter can be used for basic leaves and petals for making sugarcraft flowers. As well as the instructions in the pack, and the Mini Sugar Shoes book, there are free video tutorials on youtube in the name 'franklysweet' to help show how to make the shoes. Bags can be made using the shape cutters- new book 'Twenty to make, Sugar Bags' Due January 2013

I bought these as I was given the book "twenty to make - mini sugar shoes" and I wanted to make a shoe cake for my Mum's birthday. These worked like a dream, cut well and didn't "pull" the sugarpaste out of shape at all, would definitely recommend

This is a good quality product , it's a bit expensive, and only hope I make my money back as I design cakes and look for the wow factor!!!
I love the little sized shapes they are a little bit fiddly but come in handy for lots if things . I've had a go at making some shoes and they do look great, and practically impossible to create unaided .
Overall a good buy, not as a one off use though!

I bought this set after trying to cut shapes out by hand, hard to get the sizing right. This set has saved my life, very easy to use especially alongside 20 to make shoes book. Worth every penny.

Tools are what I expected to be honest....I purchased them for polymer clay and took a chance.. After testing them out it seems the softer and thicker the clay the better the cut, hit and miss with thin clay. These cutters would have been much better made from metal rather than plastic..The booklet inside gives only a basic overview and means you may need to purchase the actual shoe book which i will have to do......the cutters themselves are a great miniature size as I stated before it's such a shame they were not produced in metal.

all in all would i recommend, yes I would, they are great little cutters that Ive not found elsewhere

Good set of cutters. Essential to make mini bags and shoes. Everso fiddly to make and more difficult than I thought. I have my own cake decorating business so I have experience of working with sugarpaste. Even so though the results did look good.
