HISTORICAL NOVEL REVIEW

`This is not a run of the mill light romance and neither is the plot predictable.' --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

Set in London's East End in the early part of the century, this tale of love and compassion follows the fortunes of 19-year-old Rose Kennedy, whose young life reflects the hope and promise of the country as a new king succeeds to the throne.

Anna King's books are all set in the East End of London. A treat for anyone brought up in this area of London. In the same mode as Lena Kennedy, Catherine Cookson, etc..

Excellent piece of work, her books are true to life and as a writer she is getting better with each book.

The story centres on a young girl called Rose Kennedy, Jack Adams her policeman boyfriend and Frankie Buchanan, the main male character of this book, who is a gangster.

Once I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down. The cover looks a bit Mills and Boon's, but nothing could be further from the truth. Anyone who likes Catherine Cookson will enjoy this book. The setting is the Edwardian East End although the story might have been played out right until the 1950s.
