I bought this DVD for my mother who is a lifelong Frankie Vaughan fan and sat down to watch it with her. Although I didn't know anything about Frankie this is a wonderful DVD that is full of music and performances and captures the very essence of what a special man he must have been. The programme itself is about ninety minutes long and the interviews and footage are first rate. Some of the photos are amazing and must have come from the family collection. As well as his singing fame Frankie Vaughan also negotiated a knife amnesty in Glasgow in the 1960's and gave his royalties away to the boys clubs. Not something you can imagine from many artists these days. In addition to the DVD there are also full performances of Frankie singing and a collection of long anecdotes on Frankie from some of the interviewees so the total running time must be around two and a half hours. There is also a CD of Frankie's hits and songs to go with the DVD, and a lovely book of his life and career in photos which is fascinating to thumb through. All in all it's a great product and great value, a lovely gift package. Needless to say my mother was absolutely delighted with it and has watched it twice already! Sadly, it was her Christmas present but she couldn't wait until then to watch it, so now I have to find another present! With all the rubbish they have on television these days, I'm amazed that the BBC or ITV have never told the story of Frankie Vaughan as it is heart-warming and inspirational. If you're thinking of buying it for yourself or somebody else, you will not be disappointed. It's wonderful!

I enjoyed every minute of this video but there again I have always been a fan of Frankie Vaughan since the 1950's. It was such a touching dvd especially with his wife Stella, they were an ideal couple. I also enjoyed the comments of 'sweet lips' Jimmie Tarbuck, Bert Weedon and Dame Vera Lynn. Yes a great watchable video, all in all super, I am so very sorry that dear Frankie is no longer with us, such a genuine man and so very attractive. I was myself devastated when he passed away,

First of all,im a huge fan of Frankie Vaughan,so when this dvd turned up
i bought it at once!
It,s an interesting production,filled with great interviews with family members and friends,plus lots of clips from home movies,films,and shows during the years.
Unfortunatly,almost all of Frankies complete performances shown here, are from brittish television shows from the late 80,s and 90,s,showing a tired entertainer once again doing his routine.There is almost nothing picked from his enormously succesful 50,s and 60,s shows,wich is a pity,but this documentary is,all in all, rather good,and a must if you are a fan.
A fine portrait of a fantastic singer, fantastic entertainer,and,not
least, a fantastic man!
(the cd that is included contains several original recordings,great listening!)
