More About the Author

I was born and brought up in London and still live there. As you'll see from the list of books available here, I keep myself busy! I've written poetry and picture books, short and long fiction and educational books and plays. Highlights for 2013 include STORIES OF WORLD WAR ONE (Orchard), an anthology of stories by some of today's top children's writers that I've edited; MY BROTHER'S KEEPER (A&C Black), a story about the First World War I've written with my son Tom; and some more books in the brilliant OUP Project X reading scheme. I also review for The Guardian and do school visits - and you can find me on Facebook and Twitter (@tbradman). I also have a website - www.tonybradman.com.

"Ideal to read alone or aloud - and teachers will love the doctor's views on their profession." (Junior Education)

"A lesson for all - not to judge too harshly by appearances! Written in an accessible style with repetition and humour that will appeal to children as they make their first steps away from picture books" (Fun for Kids)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story 7 Mar 2014

I really enjoyed this story, planning to read it with my class at school when their current book is finished. It describes perfectly those soul destroying moments teachers of naughty children know well, when we just can't get through to them ! It teaches children that looks don't matter compared to what's inside.

A story that teaches children that it is not how someone looks but what they are like inside that really matters.
