My main quibble with books like this is the inclusion or the location of tablature that comes with the music notation.

Classically trained musicians will know how to read music and anyone with a serious interest in playing Tarrega and possessing the technique required to tackle the repertoire should certainly want to learn to read the music rather than the tab. So why have a row of tablature underneath each line of music?

My opinion maybe... thats the area I sit in (after nearly giving myself rsi trying to develop the tremelo for Recuerdos De La Alhambra)

As a self taught guitarist with a developing interest in classical I used to read tab but unfortunately tab is a guitarists' language not a musicians language. If tab must be included then I would prefer it a separate 'tab only' section either before or after the notated piece.

This has 2 advantages - less page turning for a given piece and lazy people like me can't cheat and sneak looks at the tab while playing the piece. I have other music books like this and they work just fine.

Where this book/Cd scores heavily is in the quality of the accompanying CD. All the pieces are played beautifully. I could nit-pick by saying I have heard a steadier tremelo on other recordings of Recuerdos but it still sounds stunning. I expect everyone has there own favourite performance of that most famous of pieces anyway.

My acid test for a book is whether or not I would buy it again if I lost it. In this case I would but mainly because of the CD. Although if I found a sans-tab version with a CD... even better.
