5.0 out of 5 stars French hotel guide, 9 May 2010

I have used the Michelin guides for many years and have found them invaluable when touring. Not just a list of hotels but notes of places to see and plans of the larger towns. Particularly good value this year at this price.

This version has french notes about each entry, which may help improve your french.
Maps are regionalised with good cross referencing. The guide is easy to use. One usually finds that ratings are consistent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Michelin France, 6 May 2010
By
Tackler (Lancashire, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: France 2010 Annual Guide (Michelin Guides) (Hardcover)
2010 edition still largely relevant if you find a cheap copy now in 2011.
Publishers have to print with a deadline so ALL book travel guides are fixed in the preceding autumn and much information is also repeated from previous editions.
Your current year guide will be a year older on release anyway. It's not a daily newspaper.
That is why early editions are often good value including this 2010 Michelin which we still use in summer 2011.
Always the excellent and essential companion. Entertaining and helpful route planning.

Recommend you should combine reading this guide with any of the excellent Logis et Auberges guides (free in affiliated accommodation) when you visit France. Available by purchase too in UK at Waterstones etc.

Together they can arrange your itinerary and save heartache.
Always book ahead and arrive with ease or arrive early afternoon with hope at your preferred location.
If full you will have time to find an alternative!
