Format:Spiral-bound
Over the last twenty five years of touring France, I renew atlas approx. every four years. I usually stick with Michelin but made the mistake of changing to a leading British publisher last year (I thought I was losing sight due to the typeface!)
Although the Michelin atlas gets bigger, the cost has actually dropped over twenty years ago, thanks to Amazon!
Not all additions to the atlas will be of relevance, but I put this down to pressure on Michelin to compete with Sat Nav's.

Format:Spiral-bound
This is our 4th or 5th Michelin over the last 20 years, and the maps are as good as ever and the detail is excellant especially for smaller hamlets and golf courses!
I agree that they have added a lot of unnecessary information and the detail on the route planner page is less good.
Had they just continued with the essential data, then they may have been able to maintain the quality of the paper and the outside covers; which are now dreadfully thin and it is impossible to keep the whole atlas in one piece whilst using it regularly in the car. However hard we have tried the cover came away and several more pages were torn.
Please, please improve the paper quality!

Absolute must if one is contemplating touring and driving in France. Maps are easy to read and up to date and give indications of toll roads.

Michelin Road map
The Michelin Motoring Atlas is the only map I use in France I have tried others but they do not compare.

A very useful atlas for travelling in France. It arrived sooner than the original advised date and will be used in conjunction with a road map.
