Review

"France 1815-2003 ranks among the best introductory textbooks currently available thanks to its comprehensive coverage, cogent synthesis of current scholarship, and easy accessibility....Whatever the case, Martin Evans and Emmanuel Godin have done teachers of French and French history a great service and should be commended for their work."--H-France Review

A good introduction 20 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
A well thought out and presented introduction to recent french history. The importance of the french contribution to world history in the 19th and 20th centuries cannot be over estimated. An adequate introduction. C'est trés bon.

If you are looking for a comprehensive explanation of post-revolutionary France, this book is not for you, however, it does provide a fantastic overview of the period, highlighting key dates and events. Useful accompaniment to contemporary French studies.
