A warm and generous book

This book brims with generosity and warmth, and reading it is like sipping a cup of fresh tumeric juice mixed with honey and lemon juice, which the author espouses as a general tonic. FRAGRANT RICE is a unique blend of fascinating memoir and exotic cookbook, and should be required reading of anyone interested in travel, intercultural dialogue, and gustatory delights.
