This follows on from Miles & Dobsons's 'Fox on the Rhine', taking the fight all the way to Berlin and then a confrontation with Russia over who controls Europe.
It's not a bad book, and moves along nicely, developing the characters and plot. However, it just didn't grab me and keep me enthralled like the first.
I guess the surprises weren't there? Neither was enough made of the German element in the action, since this was a facinating part of the earlier work?
Of course I have to add my complaint that the English participation was limited to a few digs at Monty and the use of Kim Philby to show how secrets were leaked to Russia!
But I guess that's part of the price we pay to enjoy largely American written alternative history?
If you buy or borrow this book, you won't hate it, but it will not be in your top 10 list.
