It's a great toy given the relatively low price and as all the other reviewers have pointed out, buy some extra darts from the vendor.

Although the aim-accuracy is fairly consistent, the cut-out targets on the rear of the shipping box are far too small to use for a 5-6m distant target, so I also bought some professional full-size paper archery targets from the same supplier, stuck them on hardboard & used a laminate spray to ensure smoothness for rubber-dart stickiness - so that my 7/8 year old kids had something sensible to shoot at that they can score on. Yes - that was a lot of effort, but what else do you naturally have in the house that is smoothly-sticky & that you want your kids shooting at?

Also - watch out for the front sights, which are simple clip-ons. On one of the two crossbows I bought it fell off twice during the first day and was then promptly lost, so I have now super-glued the sights onto the second toy.

Using my dad's account to review the product. It is great fun, we took one down to our racecourse green (how a group of 16 yr old's with a crossbow got away with a crossbow i will never know) and fired it off at things and generally had a good time. I reccomend buying a few red darts as they are eeasier to see. For a bit of fun; get a mate to throw a frisbee up in the air and then try to shoot it. Takes a while but is very competetive. Brilliant to use addictive and a no-thinker. 3 of my friends went to buy one the day after.

This product is very well made, and harmless, a very good introduction in the world of archery. It's worth while ordering extra darts as the 3 that come with it are not enough.

I've had hours of fun playing with this crossbow and have had several competitions with friends as well. This is a fantsitic product and has a range of about 30 ft.! I do reccomend buying extra bolts for this though as i found that three is not really enough, because naturally some are likely to go missing. The bolts are very sturdy and I've yet to break one in any way. Expect to but more than 1 for the sheer fun of it!

This is a fantastic fun toy, the string has worn through quickly as the plastic was rough on the top, nothing a quick rub with some wet and dry paper didn't sort out.

Christmas present for my 2 sons, aged 10 and 6. They love it and have great fun attacking each other and mounting ambushes on unsuspecting parents. The darts are quite small so the crossbows are confiscated if there are any attacks above the chest. Certainly a worthwhile gift.

I bought 2 of these bows for party games. Unfortunately only about 1 in 10 darts stick. I have tried all sorts of surfaces. The bow simply isn't powerful enough. I tried the same sucker darts using a more powerful (and more expensive) toy crossbow purchased by one of my sons a few years ago and they stuck every shot. I now have to set up old cans etc for people to fire at. The original idea of shooting at targets won't work.

My 19 year old son wanted a crossbow for christmas.
This was our compromise, as I feared his 2 younger brothers would be his prey.
The whole family has had fun with this, and proved to be really substantial and great value for money.
We also purchased an extra set of sucker darts from the same supplier.
