The fourteen months might have been the time that it takes for a sufficient number of snails to be assembled, trained, harnessed to the parcel and to complete their journey.
Alternatively, it could be how long it takes for the Amazon staff to learn Japanese, memorise the script and make the costumes, so that they can perform Spirited Away in our yards.
