Disappointing Read 4 Sep 2009
Format:Paperback
Clear example of a rushed updation of a finance textbook, in an attempt to become one of the first textbooks with 'sub-prime crisis' written on its pages.

Definitely not a 'Foundation' as implied by the title, the economic understanding required for a course in FM&I need not be so detailed and confusing for those who have not read economics before.

To save a lot of space in this review and to put it simply: This book contains some ambitious topics for 'Foundation' courses, which are explained poorly.

To help my fellow students, (in my opinion):

> If it's details or more mathematics you want SEE Saunders & Corbett.

> If it's UK Specific examples you want SEE Howell & Bain.

> ***If it's a 'Foundation' course textbook (with the correct level of detail) you want, BUY Madura, J. (Very difficult to beat)

> And Finally, If it's macroeconomics you want... READ an Economics textbook! Best to learn a topic in full through an econ textbook rather than confusing yourself with half the story like in this one! :)
