Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game really is superb. It takes the best ideas from existing racing games and adds in a few of its own and the result is one of the best driving games I've ever played.

There are over 200 cars in the game from lots of different manufacturers. Every car is fully customisable and upgradable, as in Forza Motorsport 5, which is something that's new for the Horizon series. Also, much like Forza 5, you can customise the skill level and assists, so the driving can be made to feel very sim-like with tough AI to challenge, quite easy with more arcadey driving, or anywhere in between. You can customise it to suit you.

The game is open world and it's set in Europe. The world map is huge and packed full of things to do. You start off by taking a road trip to a city where you can then take part in a number of races and challenges. When you complete those, you then take a road trip to the next city and so on, but the challenges are varied and there's tons of them. They are car dependent, or, more accurately, car class dependent, so when you arrive in a location, the challenges you can do will be based on the class of car that you're in, but if you don't like them, you can switch cars and choose a different set of challenges. There are also the racing equivalent of side missions, so you're not forced to progress in a linear fashion. If you want to just drive around, that's fine. You'll discover things around the map, such as bonus challenges, XP and fast travel boards that you can smash for bonuses, hidden barn find cars and more. If you wanted to complete this game up to 100% I would say that it would take you 25 hours at the very least. EDIT - After playing this a lot more since I wrote this review, there is no way you'd ever complete this game to 100% in only 25 hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good Forza offering. 9 Jan. 2015

I love the Forza games so much more than GT but I could say that about the whole of X Box V's PS.

Having played the first Horizon game, there is not a masive diference between the two. Obviousley you have the regular enhancements of it being on the X Box One compared tot eh 360, but the majority of the game play, the side missions etc are the same.
Story Mode - You go on various road trips to different parts of the map to compete in championships until you have won enough to compete in the Horizon final. Nothing groudbreaking here but it is good quality stuff, with varied types of races and tracks. You can adjust the playability to match your skill level but an experienced racing gamer would probably find even the hardest level a bit easy. The showstopper races that come up every now and again are the perfect example of this. You are usually racing something crazy like a plane or train or hot air balloon. On the easiest setting you will win with seconds to spare without really trying but on the hardest setting you will win with just milliseconds to spare, without really trying.

Side Missions - The best new additions to this part are the bucket list challenges. Dotted around the open map are some exotic cars that have a challenge attached to them. Although you don't actually win the car at the end some of the challenges are fun and there is a good variety. My favourite for the side missions are the barn finds. You get told of a general location where an abonned car has been found in a state of disrepair. To claim it you have to go and find it, it's not a race so as long as you find it you will always get the car but I like the driving off the main roads down tracks and through fields to find the isolated shed or garage with the car in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open world driving game done brilliantly. 4 Jan. 2015
Platform for Display:Xbox One
I never fancied the first Horizon game thinking it was going to be a dumbed down Forza. I took a chance on this as a purchase for my new console after reading universally good reviews. All I can say is that I'm now hooked. Yes it is less of a sim than the normal Forza series but it is less of a sim in the way that Project Gotham Racing was. It shares the same arcade yet skilful handling model and also gives you the same sense of enjoyment.
The entire game hangs together well around the concept of the car festival. It also does the best job yet of creating an open world driving game. The bucket list challenges add fun and give you a chance to try some exotic models before you buy. Also the barn finds are an interesting little addition, giving you the chance to find and restore old classics.
The only changes I would have liked is a little more festival, perhaps the ability to wander round some cars with other festival goers and take snaps or take in a band/DJ.
However the game is a welcome addition to my Xbox one and provides an excellent mix of driving, collectibles and social gaming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun 12 Dec. 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One
I have found this an extremely fun game. There's loads of roads to drive on and there's always missions to do. The only problem I find with the game is that it is quite hard to drift and the only other way to turn corners is to brake until your going really slowly. Therefore I would recommend this game to everyone who likes racing games and open world games.

This game is a lot of fun and the graphics are amazing but I have one prublem with it. After a while it ceaps repeating its self but it's still a lot of fun and they throw in a lot of side mom missions for you to do so you don't get bored. The Ame of the game of the game is to get into the horizon finale.over all this game is a lot of fun.
