This track should never have been a single, I get the feeling they only released it as a single because it wouldn't fit on the new album, and to promote the greatest hits.
Still its a good track, with a juicy chorus and funky bass line, etc.
A sign of things to come? Lets hope so
The lute/plucky thing at the start hints that the next album will be even more diverse, and a slow, creeping guitar line over the bubbly bass sound followed by an almost waltz-type guitar part build up excellently to the loud , heavy synthesiser filled chorus. Frusciante's guitar solo parts on this track are exceptional, even for him.
A little bit rockier than Eskimo, but not in a heavy way. Again Frusciante's guitar line makes the song, without taking over too much. The upbeat chord-strikes and fast, hard bass makes this song another great chili's track. Overall, considering Fortune Faded was written before By The Way, judging by the other 2 tracks the chili's next album should blow some minds.
