5.0 out of 5 stars Top song 17 Nov 2003
Format:Audio CD
This is a great song, as are the other two songs on this CD (especially 'Bunker Hill'). I recommend proper Chilis fans get this CD as there's no point buying Greatest Hits if you've already got the previous albums.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3 great tracks from the chilis 20 Mar 2004
Format:Audio CD
1/Fortune Faded
This track should never have been a single, I get the feeling they only released it as a single because it wouldn't fit on the new album, and to promote the greatest hits.
Still its a good track, with a juicy chorus and funky bass line, etc.
2/Eskimo
A sign of things to come? Lets hope so
The lute/plucky thing at the start hints that the next album will be even more diverse, and a slow, creeping guitar line over the bubbly bass sound followed by an almost waltz-type guitar part build up excellently to the loud , heavy synthesiser filled chorus. Frusciante's guitar solo parts on this track are exceptional, even for him.
3/Bunker Hill
A little bit rockier than Eskimo, but not in a heavy way. Again Frusciante's guitar line makes the song, without taking over too much. The upbeat chord-strikes and fast, hard bass makes this song another great chili's track. Overall, considering Fortune Faded was written before By The Way, judging by the other 2 tracks the chili's next album should blow some minds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mini Album 10 Nov 2003
Format:Audio CD
I love this!
3 new Red Hot Chili's songs all with vocal!
They're all good too, with Fortune Faded being the best obviously.
A very good single thats actually worth spending your money on due to it's lastability.
You'll enjoy this!

5.0 out of 5 stars woah! 1 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
What a Single! this proves that they still have it. The annoying thing, though is that to hear the other new song you have to buy the whole greatest hits album

3.0 out of 5 stars Fortune might be fading? lets hope not! 11 Nov 2003
By Kian
Format:Audio CD
The song fortune faded is not bad at all maybe they sympathise with the hardcore fans with a good rock song the rest of the single though...knock me down! whats going on with the 2 extra tracks? Eskimo begins with a ye olde medieval sound with the lute or something being played with showman Kiedis softly speaking his words maybe I am missing their early stuff. This is not to say I didnt enjoy their newer album by the way! I thought it showed good maturity a coming of their age in their musical prowess. As they have matured much (if any) of their testorone ingested funk has at most gone with their songs going at a much slower but controlled pace...fortune faded gets the 3 stars the extra tracks are a bit too fallacious for me.
Never the less, a must for any fan of the chili peppers.
