"LA FORTUNA DI ESSERE DONNA"[Italian title]translated in English as "LUCKY TO BE A WOMAN".
This is an excellent Italian-French made black and white,1955,film,that was filmed in Italy.
The main trio being Italian screen legends SOPHIA LOREN & MARCELLO MASTROIANNI and French
born CHARLES BOYER,amongst a cast of others.
And i can say very LUCKY Marcello[for as Corrado]he gets to have some wonderful scenes with
the stunning & curvaceous Sophia[as Antoinette]-watch closely the VERY last scene in this film
between them. Charles Boyer plays Count Gregorio in a role that perhaps would have been better
played by the Italian VITTORIO DE SICA. For when Loren, Mastroianni,& De Sica acted together in
Italian made movies they were a great acting threesome.
The story starts as stunning beauty from Rome girl,Antoinette[Loren]is suddenly sprung on the road to
fame and fortune and stardom-via a candid newspaper photo of her adjusting her stockings. Corrado[MM],
had taken these sexy shots and it is he who introduces her to a suave inpresario Count Gregorio[C.Boyer].
Much taken with her potential, beauty and fine figure, the Count teaches her how to behave like a lady-with
striking success. The Count wants to marry Antoinette, meanwhile it is her discoverer Corrado who yearns for her,
and whilst strolling home from a party one night, the two suddenly meet up yet again, finally realising their love for
each other[and hense leading up to the final passionate scene i mentioned above]. This film also sees the voluptuous Loren figure,
seen in some stunning clothes, including a onepiece bikini[of which MM gets to see the sexy dame in-all to himself in his room-lucky dude!],
as well as a photo shoot of Loren posing & walking across a field wearing also stockings & suspenders! man like wow! what a marvellous view[from all angles that is].
