Excellent reference 8 Feb. 2009
By rsd22 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is an excellent generic Fortran language reference for experienced programmers. Not a tutorial and definitely not for someone just learning programming or for someone looking for specifics of a particular compiler. I give it four stars instead of five only because it would benefit from more code examples - in fact there are almost none. But the language rules are quite completely and concisely described. In combination with the typical compiler User Guide the experienced programmer in any other language will have all he/she needs to know to work in Fortran.
A reference book with an index that is actually useful! 12 July 2014
By Ulfilas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
One of the central attributes of a good reference book is its ability to direct the reader to the item for which he is searching. Gehke's compact (~300 page) guide to Fortran 95 accomplishes this goal with short but complete descriptions of Fortran language and concepts, backed by an easily searchable 12-page index.

Fortran 95 Language Guide 17 Feb. 2000

Format: Paperback
Just based on its name, as for a programmer, no matter which level you are in now, it is a good handbook when you are working on your programming project.
