Product Description

Forté Diesel Turbo Cleaner is specifically formulated for vehicles fitted with Variable Geometry Turbos. Particles from incomplete combustion adhere to the variable vanes causing them to stick, reducing vehicle power and efficiency, resulting in an engine management fault.

We,ve been having problems with the turbo clogging up and loss of power .Every day our Skoda Superb 130PDI would go into limp mode and the warning light would come on .This had been happening for over 6 months. I poured the bottle into the fuel tank ,filled it up with Diesel and went on a 300 mile round trip. After 120 miles the engine was able to rev to 3000rpm without going into limp mode. After 160 miles the engine note changed ,it became much quieter and would now accelerate past 4500 rpm.On the trip home it was much more responsive and quieter , after 280 miles i had to stop to pay the Severn bridge toll ,after pulling away from toll booth i could see a dense black cloud of smoke out of the exhaust behind me.That must have been soot from the turbo.I'm very pleased with this product and hope it will be a while before i need to use this again.

A couple of weeks ago, I was pootling along the M6 in my 2006 SEAT Toledo 2.0tdi, when I went for a high gear overtake on a middle lane hog. I was in sixth, foot flat to the floor and as usual the torque was lovely. That was until I hit approx 2,500 rpm and the car went into limp mode meaning I had only limited power. When I pulled up and did the old "turn it on and off again" the car was fine but the fault occurred twice more that week. A quick scan on VCDS showed "overboost limit exceeded" so this was either faulty pressure sensors, or the dreaded sticking turbo veins. If you aren't up to speed on VAG turbos, the diesels at least, (I haven't owned a petrol variant) use variable geometry turbos were the veins or blades inside "unfurl" as the turbo spools so there is less lag from low revs than fixed turbo blades. The veins however can stick with carbon if the car isn't given a good workout. This fault surprised me a little as I am anything but a sedate driver and I've done 15k in the car without a hiccup. So before I started dismantling stuff and buying sensors etc., I ordered two bottles of this. Forte recommend one bottle to be used at each service and two to a full tank if a fault had occurred. So I stuck the two bottles in and filled her up. At first, there was hesitation in first and second after the product had been in for around fifty miles and I feared it had done more harm than good. At this point I was trying to make the fault occur and it was still present but it was only evident higher up the speedo than before. 275 miles in and the hesitation is gone, and limp mode cannot be induced no matter how hard I push the boundaries. I still have half a tank left as well! I am mightily impressed by this product. It's saved me a lot of time and panic as I thought the turbo was shot. It is definitely worth a punt if you have the dreaded 16618 code. £25 as opposed to ripping the turbo out? It's got to be worth a try.

Two bottles used and still the vains in the turbo stick. Probably works as a preventative but once the vains start sticking the only thing you can do is strip the turbo down. I'd already done this and used the forte after a few thousand miles after the strip down. Now got sticky vains again so won't bother with this sort of additive again.

Had to use 2 bottles and rev the engine, also drove it on high revs. It worked for six weeks but the problem reoccured so i need to take the next step and get the turbo properly cleaned.

VW Golf GTTDI kept going into limp home mode, suspected it might be gunged up turbo or something similar (EGR, injectors, etc). Thought I'd try this based on reviews here on Amazon, before going for a full turbo clean or garage inspection. The turbo cleaner looks and smells like a common fuel system type cleaner that costs half the price but anyway I tried it in half a tank of fuel. Initially no change for first few journeys, then started noticing a difference after about 100 miles of driving, engine seemed to run better and smoother acceleration, and no more limp home mode since then, so it might well work, and its probably worth a try.

Just finished my first tankful. Had an EGR fault and the car has been much improved (and quieter) since using this. I am guessing the dealers use this to solve similar problems whilst avoiding speculative and expensive tear-downs. Impressive

I bought this to help an aging Audi 1.9 TDi diesel estate with high mileage ( 180k miles ) - there was no smoke, but the engine was quite sluggish - and I thought I would see if one of these products helped it at all. The car is generally well-serviced - on time etc. to the longlife Audi service intervals, and is now due for a service.

The EGR had been blanked ( by the AA ) and a split in the turbo induction pipe was fixed - fixing those stopped the billowing black smoke of acceleration

The problem I'm afraid is that I tried a few other measures at the same time as I got a bit impatient to wait for the Forte to arrive ( it wasn't slow at all to be delivered, it arrived really quickly - I was just being impatient! ) - so I'm afraid I can sate the Forte was the solution.

I stopped using supermarket fuel and started to use BP or Shell, ( their 'standard' grade diesel ) and I also put in a one-shot diesel cleaner from the local Motorists Discount centre.

These two measures had a HUGE improvement on the car - really, really clear to feel the improvement in the responsiveness of the engine - especially at motorway speed, accelerating to overtake etc. It was a 'night to day' type change.

I then used the Forte - full bottle mixed into 30-40litres of fuel, driven 300-400 miles . I have to say I didn't notice any further improvement in the car - but the first round of cleaning with the other products had given such a huge result that unless the Forte had done something equally spectacular it was going to be very difficult to gauge any effects. This is why I've given 3 stars - it may be great - it may be pants - friad I can't say!

I hope that gives you some general help.
