At first, it's easy to mistake the White Rabbits for just another set of New York City dance-rock hipsters in the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah tradition, but a second look reveals a quirkier and more rewarding aesthetic. A sextet featuring two drummers and a piano player, the White Rabbits refer to their music as "honky tonk calypso," and their cheerful blend of calypso, reggae and ... 5.0 out of 5 stars The best album from America this year. 26 July 2007
Format:Audio CD
This is phenomemol, ludicrous, good fun. You know, things to that effect. If you like a nice honky-tonk, buy this. If you don't, still buy it. If you like modern bands from Brooklyn who play their instruments properly, buy this. They have two drummers, for god's sake.
If you want references...well, they sound a bit like the Walkmen, maybe a bit of Television with Carribean beats thrown in. Arctic Monkeys at some points, the Strokes...all great bands, you know.
White Rabbits got a rapturous response when they recently played in the U.K. and they deserve all the success in the world. Interesting how Kaiser Chiefs whipped them up for a support slot for their tour in the U.S. this autumn. I would give this record five stars * * * * * It will get the blood pumping around your body again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album of 2007 (so far) 23 May 2007
By blankwave - Published on
Format:Audio CD
The most exciting indie release I've heard all year, and if you can believe it, they are even better live! For fans of Spoon, Walkmen (although these are a stretch as WR have originality up the wahzoo, just points of reference really). Lots of great drums (two drummers!), enticing guitars and pounding keys. In all the wonderful noise the amazing thing is that the lyrics all stand out and the melodies are cathy as hell. You'll be bouncing along from start to finish. Take a chance on this, I promise you won't be let down. High points are "Kid On My Shoulders","The Plot","While We Go Dancing" and "I Used To Complain, Now I Don't".

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 24 Aug 2007

I saw White Rabbits live in Chicago this summer, and they were amazing. Almost every member played multiple instruments throughout the set. You could tell they were having fun doing what they do.

Fort Nightly, their debut album, sounds just like their live shows. To me it sounds like a tropical Wolf Parade. I've been listening to it constantly since I bought it; it's fantastic.

I'm always looking for new music. White Rabbits is simply amazing. I definetely recomend this album for every single fan of alternative music. This is pure rock greatness. Best debut since Arcade Fire's Funeral. Best tracks the plot, tourist trap and while we go dancing, but really, just get the whole album because is a great secuence of music. You have to listen to it entirely. Peace

I have just recently gotten in the White Rabbits and I think their music is amazing. It is almost like an upbeat fusion of a modern Pink Floyd... if that makes sense. Plenty of musical instruments to tantalize the ears.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this CD!! 22 Aug 2007

Best indie CD I've heard in a long time. And catch their live show! I hate when bands are awful live and their CDs are overproduced-- this is not at all the case with White Rabbits.
