Just what the driller needs,
By lt.roe@workover.co.uk (England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Formulas and Calculations for Drilling, Production and Workover (Paperback)
As a driller there are very few calculations you need to know. Rig math in itself is very basic. The problem is that many people are afraid of the answer. This book is design with this in mind and has all the calculations you will need if you run a rig. There are far more expensive book than this with a lot less in them. It uses the algebraic system. Something I found handy when if first started writing my own spreadsheets after spending many years using a HP type calculator( RPN) "I still use one today "to check when a formulary has a lot of brackets. It is small taking up very little space in you brief case. Metal spiral bound that allows it to lie flat on the desk without the pages flapping back and turning while you are punching the keys of your computer. Don't be fooled by it simplicity I have seen many engineers referring to it when they needed to referees and many of the basic formulas are used in some of the more complicated calculations. Summery:

Need formulas in the middle of the night,
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Formulas and Calculations for Drilling, Production and Workover (Paperback)
Norton Lapeyrouse has done a good job accumulating those hard to formulas that you need in the middle of the night. We have all been on location and needed to calculate some aspect in drilling of a well and can't remember the exact formula. Well this book has just about everything you want. It ranks up there with Service Company's Tech Facts books and a more.

I use this book regularly on and off the rig site. The material in the book is invaluable for oilfield engineer's. I've traveled around the world working on rigs and always carry it with me.

Worth Buying, wouldn't mind to buy it even if it was more expensive than that price.
An excellent book for students who are taking Petroleum/Drilling/Well Engineering courses. |
