Even with Formula 1 2005 this is still the benchmark F1 game. Graphics aside for a moment this is the only game that combines excellent commentory with cars that handle well in the dry and are tricky in the wet. It offers competition that cant be beaten by 5 seconds a lap as in F1 2005 and as its final party piece it never ever gets boring. I have been playing this game for 7 years and even now its as fun and entertaining as it was in 97. Obviously graphics have moved on and F1 05 is as good looking and new as they come but for true fun and a real sense of a season unfolding F1 97 rules.

Not the original, but still the very best Formula 1 racing game, now available on platinium. The game is very addictive and is flexible enough to be very challenging, car setup can be quite frustrating, but it adds more realisum to the overall package, as each little adjustment to the car brings it own reward, be it positive or negative and you must learn fast or be prepared to lose. I rate this game very highly, the attention to detail makes it a pleasure to play and puts many newer driving games to shame.

Still the best F1 racing game out there. The in-car views and interaction between cars are superb and easily more playable than newer versions of the format. Now available in the platinum series, it's a must for all budding racers and serious gamers.
