A great book, great photos 19 Mar 2012
By ChuckG - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love this book. The photography is terrific and the text, while not much, is interesting to read, though I don't think you'd really buy it for the text because it's so gorgeous to look at. I couldn't have asked for a better book on supercars, since it contains many of my favorite supercars which are often ignored, such as the BMW M1, Aston DB4GT Zagato, Maserati MC12 and Bizzarrini Strada. I think the Ariel Atom was unnecessary, perhaps replaced with the Bugatti EB110, Jaguar XKSS or Ferrari F50, but still it's a great book.

Great Christmas present 25 Dec 2011
By Jerry So.Cal. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I got this for my cousin as a Christmas gift. He opened it last night and he was so excited. He loves cars, especially fast cars. I know nothing about cars. All i know is he couldn't stop smiling, was flipping through all the pages quickly, spewing off all these facts about the cars that he was in the book. Then he headed straight home to read the book carefully. So i am basing my review on his reaction. He gave me 5 different hugs and kept saying thank you. He's a 30 yr old man!
The photos are very nice and artistic. It makes a good coffee table book. It's quite large. According to my cousin, the book included some cars that just came out recently(writing this review 12-25-11).

Form Follows Function:The Art of the Supercar-Nice book but worn out subject and missing other Important Cars. 17 Nov 2011
By Jose Lopez - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I was looking forward to this book and When I finally had the chance to enjoy it(and I did)I was also a little disappointed,First the website description says the Corvette Z06 is in here(and it is not,It should have been in here as well as The ZR1,Carbon Z06,C5-R/C6.R,and what of The Corvette-Powered Mosler MT900?)instead it seems like another book on "SuperCars", While there is a favorite of mine in here The beautiful Chevrolet Engined-Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada(the best one in fact in the book is the Bizzarrini although I wish the Iso Grifo 7 Litri would be in the book). And The Beautiful Probably the most untamed and meanest Ferrari-The F40,as well as the Gorgeous Miura(no Jota sadly)and Jaguar XJ220,there is NO Bugatti EB,No Chaparrals(are the beautiful Ferrari beating Racers not Supercars?)no Countach, you have Modernist favorites such as The Hideous Ariel Atom which is described as beautiful in the introduction, the hideous Ferrari 599 GTB fiorano and F50(the beautiful Maserati MC12 is in here though). All these cars are basically Beauty in the Eye of the beholder and "art" to others,They should have included more cars,I am disappointed.I don't know what is going on with Motorbooks' new ownership and these subjects lately, the books(especially this one)has been catering to European Crowd,Then you have the Mention of one day The disappearance of Fossil Fuels? Excuse me,They should have just added This is a book on Supercars soon to be dinosaurs, because only "responsibly made" Supercars are the future. The Whole point of a Supercar, any Performance Car has nothing To do with The PC Environmentalist Fringe movement. When I purchase a vehicle I could care less how much does it emit.
Cows Emit Methane should we Come up with a Hybrid cow? No.This book gets 5 stars for the cars mentioned above, but 0 for the Text and effort,Hopefully a better book will come along on the topic.
