Each bite-sized section reads somewhat like a humorous short-story, tracing the birth, life and death of a trend - and always reflecting something about the mood of the times in which the style was popular.Often, the demise of a trend is brought about by an unfortunate incident, which helps explain to the reader why a must-have item was so quickly "forgotten."

About the Author
Katie Hahn has been a freelance journalist for seven years, focusing on beauty, fashion and entertainment. Her writing has also appeared in Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times, and McSweeney's. She is a frequent contributor to TV Guide, and regularly covers shows that deal with fashion like Ugly Betty and America's Next Top Model.
