I think that if I were a writer of songs, I would beg Priscilla Herdman to sing them. Only then would I feel confident that others heard my voice and my meaning. Someone told me that Ms. Herdman took some heat for doing these "pop" songs and not remaining in the "folk" genre. What hogwash! Her choice of songs has added these best versions to our national storehouse of music -- the same place where we store those old favorites that we call "folk." You should be warned, however, that after hearing some of these songs on this CD, you may find that other singers' versions just do not measure up.
