Quick, easy read without Aliens on the ships as in other novels by this author. Glossary in back is not very useful because of story line. Personal peeve, the Coalition "society without monetary basis" "free to the people" socialism just does NOT click for me. That the pre-Coalition is at war with America seems overly done. That America is running into trouble through 'thought regimentation' feels too true today, but here it is socialism and there it seems to offer NO real basis for it. Asides like devastation of Houston and the Hudson valley under Coalition Control do NOT seem backed up by the narrative. The American economy seems to be less imperiled than stated. Sometimes, near always, I find time travel stories too sticky to enjoy. Thanks, Harry!
