More About the Author

Forgiveness has a well-proven power to transform our lives. One day I found myself writing an article about it - while in the middle of trying to write something else. I thought, "That's an interesting article. Some great ideas about forgiveness, but..." I was not sure what on Earth to do with it.

The next day the same thing happened. And again the next day. Eventually I had to admit to myself that I was writing a book - and one about Forgiveness at that.

I realized that the ideas landing on my computer screen, via my hands, were so clear and compelling that I would just have to overcome my reticence - as a nerdy computer guy - and get it published.

Much of the time it felt like the book was writing itself - a sort of download from somewhere. Sometimes it felt like the book was writing me as it began to shape my thinking. I often thought, "I am writing the book I most need to read!"

The book was started in Japan, so this helped me write it outside the framework of my Christian/Western mindset. I wrote Forgiveness is Power in a way that people from any culture or religion (or no religion) could read it and find it useful.

There are over ninety different exercises in the book! It is very practical. It is chock full of ideas that relate to forgiveness and also becoming reconciled - especially about becoming reconciled with ourselves.

My belief, and my experience, is that the human heart is essentially good and that given the right tools and techniques, presented in a palatable way, wonderful changes can happen. I am delighted to see Forgiveness is Power beginning to play a role in creating those changes.

Forgiveness is Power 23 Nov 2013
By Sheri Newton - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Forgiveness is Power by William Fergus Martin is the book for everyone who finds forgiveness (of others or themselves) a hard task to do. This motivational and encouraging book is full of insight and ideas on how to find the forgiveness you have been searching for.

Forgiveness is Power is a powerful book that not only teaches us how to forgive others, but also ourselves, which is oftentimes much harder to do. Learning how to forgive is not easy, but it can be done, especially with such powerful motivational guides as this.

This book explains why forgiveness is so important, the four steps to forgive, choose to blame or choose to learn, judgment, guilt, cynicism, apologizing, and much, much more!

Forgiving others can help make you a happier person, motivate you to live the life you want to live, and even enhance your self-esteem. It is really something that everyone needs to learn how to do to create the life they want to live. If you or someone you know needs to learn how to forgive and move on with life, this is definitely the book for them! I highly recommend it.

A powerful and truly insightful book 25 April 2014
By Highland Yank - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I never realised how hard I was clinging to the very things that were keeping me unhappy. My pride kept getting in the way and I was becoming more and more depressed. Then, through a dear friend, I found this book. I began working with some of the exercises and slowly I woke up to how I was blocking my own happiness. For me finding FORGIVENESS has been the solution - not in the forgiveness of others - but having the courage to look at me and forgive myself. This has been the key to my happiness. Thank you so much William Martin for your life saving book FORGIVENESS IS POWER. I feel like I have my life back.
