Book Description

Fancy Lynn Sawyer says that before she'll even think about the M word, a man has to say the three magic words, but 'I love you' isn't enough. He has to promise her a forever thing. She intends to find her forever thing in Florida, her home since she was fifteen, so she wasn't even looking for it when she comes to Texas to help her grandmother. With a job at the elementary school lined up, Fancy Lynn moves but she intends to stay only until her grandmother regains her health.
Theron Warren has absolutely no intention of falling in love again. His one failed marriage was painful enough. As an elementary school principal, part-time cop, and full-time ranch owner, he doesn't have time for the sassy woman who suddenly appears in his life: first in the jailhouse, then at his school and soon everywhere he turns.
Fate is trying to tell Fancy Lynn and Theron that they are soul mates, but is having a tough time convincing them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit from Carolyn Brown 25 Jan. 2012
By E. Swain - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Carolyn Brown is one of my favorite authors, and I grabbed this book as soon as it appeared at my local library. I was hooked from page one. Fancy Lynn wasn't looking for love in Texas, and her run-in with part-time police officer Theron Warren sets the tone for their relationship. Sparks flew every time they met, but both were determined to ignore the sparks. They danced around their feelings as they got to know each other better, and it was one step forward and two steps back and very entertaining to watch. Take one woman who wants forever, a man who has had his heart stomped on and isn't planning to give it away again, add some supporting characters taken from any small town in America, mix gently and you have the perfect reading experience. I'm looking forward to reading the next two books in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Part of a great 3 book series by Carolyn Brown 23 Dec. 2012
By Memphis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I started this 3 book series about three high school friends after reading another Carolyn Brown book. I like her writing style. Her stories are original and the characters feel real even when circumstances are a little far fetched. These books are a little shorter than some of the other Carolyn Brown books. They average about 250 pages. The love story is sweet with plenty of sexual tension before the characters finally end up together, but don't expect any graphic love scenes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read!!!! 29 Dec. 2012

I have love all of Carolyn Brown books, but some just a little bit more than the others. I have to say that this one is right at the top of my all time favorites, so far. In fact; I love this story so much, that I really don't know where to start first. It has so many twists and turns, that it will surely make your head swim.

Here's how it starts off....

Fancy Lynn Sawyer gave up her teaching job in Fl, and moves to Texas to take care of her grandmother. They had been notified that her grandmother had fallen and broke her hip, and was put into a nursing home/ rehab facility for the next three weeks. They also stated that when she came home she would need help getting around for another month or two, so Fancy was here to do what she could. It wasn't going to be easy though, because her grandmother has always been a very cantankerous woman. A woman who had always scared the crap out of Fancy for as many years as she could remember, and still did...

Her grandmother had always seemed like she hated Fancy and her mother Gwen, but no one really ever knew why. Gwen had Fancy when she was only sixteen years old, and Fancy's biological father had died before she was ever born. When she was about fifteen, her mother had finally found another man, and they married soon after and moved to Florida. Now fifteen years later, Fancy is back to take of her grandmother at the request of her mother.

The first week she was there, she was driving down the street when a black cat ran out in front of her car. Fancy swerved to miss the cat, and in the process she looses control of the car. When she looks up in the rear view mirror, she notices red and blue flashing lights. Then she notices a strong almond extract smell in her car, and realizes that the bottle she'd just bought for baking has broken and leaking all over her and the front seat. The officer mistakes her for a young teenager, he also thinks she's been drinking (although she passes the breathalizer test with flying colors). He still hauls her off to the station, throws her in a jail cell, until he can contact her parents to pick her up.He was shock to find out that she was telling him the truth when she'd told him she was thirty years old, and not the sixteen year old he'd first believed her to be.

That started a whole chain of events between these two. I don't want to go into too much more though, because if I do it will give the whole story away.

I will tell you this much though....

Fancy Lynn Sawyer says that before she'll even think about the M word, a man has to say the three magic words, but 'I love you' isn't enough. He has to promise her a forever thing.

Theron Warren (the officer who had arrested her that day) has absolutely no intention of falling in love again.

Would I recommend this book! You better bet I would. If I could have rated this book a ten instead of a five I would have.

A sweet little tale. Lacks the spice of other books I've read Carolyn Brown. Loved the small town characters. A worthwhile read as a Prime borrowed book.

3.0 out of 5 stars The usual romance 23 Jan. 2013
By Quinn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I only read this because I happened to buy the book that followed it . . . . . it's not particularly a story I would have chosen for myself to read, but I don't like having the full picture. I want to believe that in reality romances like this happen, and perhaps it is just that, true fiction. It wasn't unbearable, perhaps a little unbelievable at times, but you can't deny liking the happy ending.
