I bought this book after reading the one before
Jade: Fighting to the End which told her story right up to the moment she was diagnosed with cancer. I would recommend reading both.
I don't read 'newspapers' and even if I did I wouldn't believe a word they make up. Personally I prefer to get to know people before making a judgement instead of acting like a sheep and forming a hatred towards a person I have never met, simply because the Press tell me to.
Obviously we couldn't all know Jade Goody personally but her books are the closest thing to it. Her books and her real personality shine through and were exactly what I thought they would be, she was a funny, forthright, warm person who suffered a lot of rubbish in her life and was determined her own children wouldn't suffer the same.
I couldn't put either of the books down and read them within hours, because I wanted to know what happened next. It's rare I find a book that keeps me up into the night because I really care about what's going on in it, but both of these books had that effect.
I liked Jade Goody from the beginning and not just because she had cancer as some people like to suggest. A lot of people did and were wise enough to ignore the media frenzy on her return to BB. Reading these books it is hard to believe she is gone to be honest, she seems so alive in them and they show her to be a very savvy, brave individual who whatever her mistakes did not deserve her unfortunate and cruel end.
I would highly recommend these books to anyone - I've read hundreds of auntobiographies and these rate amongst the best.
