One of Fallout`s better album`s this one. Both in quality and sound. Food were a Chicago band and this was their only album.

Quality Psych Pop/Rock is the order of the day here. The title track is one of the high points, and as on most of the album, there`s a lot of sweeping string arrangements and even brass added to the mix in places [see the beautiful "What It Seems To Be"]. The band show they could rock as well on "Naive Prayers", "Leaves" and others.

One puzzling thing is that the C.D i bought says 12 tracks on the back and inlays, but it only contains 11...the track listing isn`t the same as the one listed on Amazon, either. I contacted the seller but didn`t receive any feedback, so i`m none the wiser.

Anyhoo, this comes recommended from The Baron...you know you want it.

How many times have you bought a psych album with such freaky psychedelic art you actually felt stoned just looking at it, only to be disappointed with soppy pop filler? Well, this is the reverse case: while the cover may look like a promotional photo for Revenge Of The Nerds 2, it's packed with great psych rock/pop. The songs are very well-written, and there are a lot of interesting psychedelic touches to interest the psych fan. And because it was recorded for a major label, the sound quality is as perfect as you'd expect from a master tape remastering job. This album really needed a different cover. It completely misrepresents their music.

Must have Psych CD 7 Sept. 2008
By Steven L. Carroll - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a great CD. They have a groovy-mellow, Las Vegas, Austin Powers kind of sound on some songs and a down to earth hippy sound on others. Not the most outrageous psych, but really good late 60's pop/psych. Lots of great Movie soundtrack songs. You can hear some Moody Blues influence in "Inside the mirror".

Overall I would give it a 7-8 out of 10 because some of the songs are a bit irritating and the singer is only good, not great. Turn down the treble.
You can't always judge a psych album by its cover 18 Nov. 2014

Food - 'Forever Is A Dream' (Fallout) 1 April 2012
By Mike Reed - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Originally released in 1969, as this was the obscure pop-psychedelic band's only record. Most fans would likely consider Food to be light-weight psych. Tunes that I got the most out of were "Naive Prayers", the rocking "No", "Lady Miss Ann", the six-minute "Coming Back" and the fun-to-listen to "Inside The Mirror". Line-up: Steve White - lead vocals, Bill Wukovich - guitar & vocals, Erick Scott Filipowitz - bass, Ted Ashford - keyboards & producer and Barry Mraz - drums & percussion. Album was recorded and finalized TerMar Recordings and John Tolbart's in Chicago. Might draw in fans of C. A. Quintet, Gandalf and the Moody Blues.
