Sisters Sarah and Mia haven't spoken to each other since what should have been a marvellous holiday in Devon resulted in no contact between them for three years. They are both Jane Austen fans and both decide after a gap of several years to visit the Jane Austen Festival in Bath. Both hope and fear that they will bump into each other.

The reader is in the dark about the cause of their falling out and this is gradually revealed through flashbacks. I thought Sarah was particularly interesting because she suffers from Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and I thought this was dealt with particularly well in the story. The difficulties she has with day to day life and the way OCD affects those close to her was very well done.

I found Mia very irritating at first because she seems so selfish and self centred but I did gradually revise my opinion of her. I thought both the sisters and the other characters were well drawn and believable. The atmosphere of Bath and the enthusiasm for everything really comes over in this book and readers of the author's A Weekend with Mr Darcy will recognise some of the minor characters from that book. This book is the third in a trilogy about Austen addicts, of which the first one is A Weekend with Mr Darcy and the second The Perfect Hero but each book can be read as a standalone story.

I love this author's writing and her sheer joie de vivre even when she is dealing with serious subjects make her books a real pleasure to read. I recommend them to anyone who wants something a bit different from the average women's fiction.

This last volume is the best of a very good trilogy written by someone who knows her Austen and has a very creative bent to sequels.

I made sure I read them in sequence and the relatively small overlap of characters adds a nice twist but each volume does stand alone.

Well worth the read, top marks.

I love love love Jane Austen and I have read the previous two books in this series but I have to say that the final installment is my least favourite. I felt overwhelmed by the Austen references, I think the fact that the two girls central to the story were big fans was enough plus the story was set in Bath for the most part! I felt sometimes references to Austen or Mr Darcy etc were too blatent and a bit ridiculous.

The story itself is good, the twist at the end was slightly obvious and I felt some of the male characters were underdeveloped.

Overall a good beach read, I don't think I will be recommending this book to anyone, even those who love Austen. Read the first book of the series, it is much much better.
