Twenty years time, in fact, since ‘In Memoriam’ first made its crepuscular crawl towards the darker reaches of our consciousness, in which Cathedral have proved themselves to be so much more than the paragons of doom metal they originally resembled. Twenty years, in which they’ve proved ... Read more in Amazon's Cathedral Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Real doom 21 Jun 2009
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Classic album from real doomers. Very nice package. Dual disc with audio and dvd sides. Perfect quality of both. DVD side content is interview with the band interwoven through cuts from their early video clip. Advantage is that "Soul sacrifice" EP put on separate cd in a simple paper sleeve. MUST HAVE for the Cathedral fan and decent proposal for all metalheads, especially young ones, who have been bred on new metal bands.

4.0 out of 5 stars First and Last 18 Jun 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is one band I always meant to check out but for some reason never got around to it.This is true doom,it was not trendy at the time, unlike now where there seems to be an inexhaustible number of bands playing Sabbath worshipping doom, some good some not so good. The packaging on this is exceptional you get a bonus EP which for me is even more crushing than the album, and a DVD,its a dual sided disc.Great artwork, and a booklet all for under a tenner.I bought The Last Spire after this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cathedral's doom metal mastepiece 11 Sep 2010
Format:Audio CD
If there were going to be a few albums to put in the doom metal genre and considered to be the most influential. 'Forest of Equilibrium' is one of them. Cathedral formed in Coventry and created such a fantastic combination of slow and heavy rock music that certainly makes it unique. This deluxe edition, includes an ep and dvd as well as the original album. The beautiful artwork which is well documented on the DVD. All four original band members talking about albums history. If you want to try a metal album with a difference. This is certainly one to go for.
