Professional perspectives on key issues in global politics,

Foresight 2009 is a welcome escape from the reactive news reporting that dominates the mass media. There is a welcome mix of thoughtful and bold analysis, which ranges from the macro-level (e.g. questioning the validity of west's enduring feeling of superiority over emerging powers, or unpicking the 20 year food security outlook) to more specialist analysis (covering every region, from Chavez's future foreign policy or terrorism risks in Nigeria's Rivers State right through to opportunities within the uranium sector in Kazakhstan). The style is engaging and readable, with some excellent diagrams and maps which illustrate the content.
In short, a highly intelligent, valuable and thought-provoking book.
