Product Description
The analytical team at Exclusive Analysis spend much of their normal working day analysing specific risks to particular assets all over the globe. The yearbook is a welcome opportunity for them to communicate externally some of the broader global issues that inform their everyday analysis, and allows them to anticipate the relevant questions businesspeople and government policy makers will face. As such, the yearbook offers a chance to step back and think about the issues most likely to develop in at least the year ahead, if not longer.
From the Publisher
There are a few recurrent pieces in the yearbook, such as the `Global Risk Outlook', which highlights key specific risks in each region. The `Language of Risk' article speaks to the importance of clear and precise communication, a bedrock of our analysis. However, most topics are selected by teams best placed to analyse the principal issues in their regions. How will South Africa change under Jacob Zuma? How will the war against the `Taliban' impact on security in the West? How will new government policies affect foreign investors in Russia's vast natural resources sector? Some topics are truly global. The current financial crisis has implications for increased government protectionism and regulation, and has the potential to change corporate and investor behaviour fundamentally. After a chaotic year in agricultural markets, will we see more panic stockpiling and trade embargos; and are genetically modified crops likely to be more favoured? Welcome to Foresight 2009
