No Hollywood CSI but this book explains the rel science behind forensics. Although easy to read with lots of detail, a little scientific background will ensure you get th most from this very interesting book.

By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Collaboratively authored by the team of forensic experts William J. Tilstone (Executive Director, National Forensic Science Technology Center, Largo, Florida), Kathleen A. Savage (Academic Program Manager, national Forensic Science Technology Center, Largo, Florida), and Leigh A. Clark (Crime Laboratory Analyst, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Jacksonville Regional Operations Center: Serology/DNA section, Jacksonville, Florida), Forensic Science: An Encyclopedia Of History, Methods, And Techniques is a complete, A to Z reference covering every aspect of forensic sciences research and processes. Providing an up-to-date encyclopedia compilation of information contributed by leading experts in DNA, blood, fingerprints, and all the related fields of forensic science, Forensic Science includes entries pertaining to notable and notorious individuals in the history of forensic science and technology, legal standards, as well as important, breakthrough cases, comprehensive understandings of various and in-depth topics all pertaining to the forensics of investigation science. A superbly organized and presented textbook on the subject, Forensic Science is very strongly recommended for students of forensics, as well as the non-specialist general reader with an interest in forensic science as practiced daily in virtually every community in the country.
2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 8 Mar 2012
By nbrgb - Published on Amazon.com
I had high hopes for this book when I purchased it. Unfortunately, the information is extremely general and not very useful. I was hoping this book would be a good source of information for some papers I was writing, but I was extremely disappointed. There are much better books out there on the same topic.
1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless Investment 13 May 2010
By Professor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
The title of the book contains more information than the contents. Waste of money, better and more current sources for the "history, methods and techniques."
