Stu says:
What are your fave foreign horror films? (not including American films).

Do you think they are better then American horror?

Then finally do you collect Tartan films or not?

Please send your views and reasons and opinions.

I am just curious that's why I wrote this.

My favourites are probably The Eye, The Grudge and Ring. I haven't seen that many foreign horrors though. I don't think they are neccessarily better than western horror films but they are very influencial to the genre today. I don't collect Tartan films but I do have a few. It's a great label.

I think J-Horror is scarier at first simply because it's different. The typical J-Horror evil female spirit is in line with Japanese folklore. Stories of sinister female spirits have been told in Japan for hundreds of years. Over here we have boogeymen and standard ghosts. It's worth remembering that most of the Asian films we see are the biggest hits lauded with critical acclaim. That's just a fraction of the films released. They'll churn out just as much trash as the west does.

My favourites are Martyrs, Switch-blade romance, tale of two sisters and rec. I love Tartan films and I believe their better than most western horrors. They think out side the box alot more than we do.
