An informative, amusing guide,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ford Fiesta: The Definitive Guide to Modifying (Haynes "MaxPower") (Hardcover)
I have been through my fair share of books, articles and websites on modifying cars, but none has been as complete as this.I'm not exactly the most patient person in the world, definately don't have the most time, and can get bored of doing something, when i'm halfway through it. The way this book's been written holds my attention, through interesting texts, and it's literally littered with full colour pictures throughout, just in case you don't think you're modding right. They're there to keep you on track, and the wheels on your car. And they do just that. Ten out of ten for all aspects of the book. It explains everything from ICE install to installing an Alarm, to replacing bumpers. And does it all in a very easy to follow fashion. If you're new to the modding world, and own a fiesta, get this book. It'll be invaluable for your own mods, and will save you a fortune!

Having bought this book to assist when I carry out some engine mods on my XR2i 16v, Iwas very dissapointed to see that it featured mainly very simple trim and body mods. Most of these mods would be quite easily carried out in conjunction with the ordinary Haynes manual.I would only recommend this book to someone who wants to change their wing mirrors and doesnt know how (a limited number of you, I would have thought). Anyone who is looking for an in depth performance related manual should avoid this as it will only skim the surface very lightly.

A pretty good guide for modding your basic fiesta,

This review is from: Ford Fiesta: The Definitive Guide to Modifying (Haynes "MaxPower") (Hardcover)
This book takes you through the stages of tarting up your basic mk3 fiesta. There's info on fitting induction kits, exhaust back boxes, body kits, alarms, ice, interior styling, etc. It's all complete with step by step colour pictures too which is handy. The only thing it doesn't do is tell you specifically where to get the parts from (not too much of a problem). Don't buy this book if you've already got a decent fiesta (like the first bloke who reviewed it!!!). Also, it won't tell you how to do an entire respray/engine conversion nor is there pages and pages on how to convert your 1.3 into a 250bhp monster cos it ain't gonna happen. This book basically outlines what you need to know to do up your first/second car and make it look/sound tidy. And it does a pretty good job of it too.
