Robin Knox Johnston has always been one of my heros, so I was really looking forward to this book. He proved that your achievements are limited only by your abilities and not by some arbitrary age. So whilst I admired the voyage I didn't enjoy reading all of the book. The first part the pages flew past - he covers the setting up of the clipper ventures and the history of the Velux race , which is run by Clipper, his background and motivations. During the race he was beset by electronic problems and this began to dominate much of the rest of the book. It felt much of it was complaining about the things that went wrong - which I can well appreciate is hugely frustrating - it would have helped if there was more balance. I did struggle to finish it which is unsual with these types of books, as normally I don't want to put them down till I have finished.
